USHWA and Hambletonian Society Sponsor Special In The Money Round Media Roundtable Wednesday.

The United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) and the Hambletonian Society are proud to partner to sponsor a special In The Money Media Live Roundtable, to discuss the leading upcoming Dan Patch Awards. The Dan Patch Awards, presented by Caesars Entertainment, will see the 12 divisional winners honored on the equine side, plus a live announcement and presentation of the Trotter of The Year and Pacer of the Year, culminating with the announcement of the E. Roland Harriman Harness Horse of the Year.

The special Roundtable will be hosted by Edison Hatter of In The Money Media (who is a member of the Delaware Valley USHWA Chapter). Several other USHWA Award Voters will join Edison: Barry Lefkowitz (USHWA President), Michael Carter (USHWA First Vice President), Derick Giwner (USHWA New York City Chapter member), and Garnet Barnsdale (USHWA Canadian Chapter member). The panel will discuss the 2024 Dan Patch Equine Awards and their choices as voters.

The Roundtable will be live on the In The Money Media YouTube channel (link) on Wednesday, December 27th at 8:00 pm EST. The Roundtable will also be archived as a Podcast and will be available and shared on Hambletonian Society and USHWA channels as well. The official announcement of the Dan Patch Award winners will take place on Saturday, December 30th on the Meadowlands “pre-game show” at approximately 5:20 pm EST, ahead of their card of live racing that evening.

The United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA), founded in 1947, is an international organization comprised of those who cover and report on harness racing.

USHWA nominates and votes (along with North American race secretaries for equine awards) for the Dan Patch Awards and all year-end equine and human awards in harness racing.

The Dan Patch Awards Banquet, presented by Caesars Entertainment, will be held on Sunday, February 25th in Orlando, Florida. Information on room reservations, tickets, souvenir journal ads, and sponsorship information regarding the event can be found on USHWA’s website, www.usharnesswriters.com.
