| Keystone Kids; Foiled Again & Again By Frank & Ray Cotolo Eight frosh-colt trotter Breeders Crown were among three divisions at The Meadows in Keystone Classic divisions, Sept. 20. The $103,402 total for the trio had only one “Crown”-eligible winner when Kash’s Cantab won the second split. The colt beat state-breds sans any connections to the October championships. Remarkably, he paid $9.80. Luckycharm Hanover managed to take the show spot in a split, with Meadville, Americangerneration and Triomphe De Vie trotting in the mix also. The latter broke and had no chance. And in the other split, Buffalino Hanover was second and Mythical Hall took third, with Bambino Hall out of it. Also on Monday, the fastest older pacers were at Harrington Raceway for the $354,000 Bobby Quillen, the event with the track’s highest purse in history. It was also the fastest mile ever paced at Harrington when Foiled Again won in track-record time, 1:50.1. He defeated prohibitive favorite Won The West, who was first over all around the oval. Blueridge Western took the front from the inside and then was challenged by “West” at three-quarters. That’s when “Again” went outside three wide in a pace sprint to the wire. Foiled Again has shown major strength his last two races here and is revved up for the older pacer division coming in two weeks.
